"Dark Etchings" Domino Book for Rick St Dennis EDT!

Howzit Dominoians!
I'm super stoked to now be on the fabulous Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team!  Rick's images in both digi and rubber are simply stunning and there's a huge variety of imagery to suit every possible taste!  Check out all the digis in his Zibbet and Etsy stores and some real rubber is available Here!

This is my first EDT post for the Rick St Dennis Fans and Friends Facebook group.  February sees some changes regarding our challenges which you can read about HERE!  We also have 2 fun blogs for more EDT inspiration:
Airless Chambers and Sparkle and Glitter

My project today is a Domino Book and is another addition to a series of "Dark Etchings" I've been having fun with for a while now.  I call them 'dark etchnings' because I create monochromatic black and gray pieces that remind me of inked etchings.  Previous ones were done with Black Soot Distress Ink on watercolour paper and this one is done with Copics and Sharpie markers.

The dominoes are stamped with black StazOn ink and coloured with gray and black Sharpies.  The edges and sides with the dots are coloured solid black.

Here's the pages of the book.  The scene is a compilation of Rick St Dennis "Haunted Places #1" digis coloured with Copics in shades of gray.  Sadly the rubber is no longer available and the digis aren't up in the RSD stores so ask for the digis if you need them but this technique is well suited for lots of the images that are available!  Check out all the digis in the Zibbet and Etsy stores.

UPDATE:
Haunted Places is now available at the RSD Zibbet store here:
https://www.zibbet.com/rick1949/haunted-places-one-digi-sheet

The edges of each page have Black Soot Distress Ink applied and the black background has a metallic silver edging which you can see in the photo below.

Here's the completed Domino Book with a black ribbon tied in a bow, the ribbon has silver wire wrapped around the ends.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Tired of boring old keys, then why not jazz them up with a bit of altered magic!
I used a key and 2 altered Pairs in Pears game tiles for this Poe project!
Both of these projects feature Smeared Ink's Quoth the Raven rubber stamp set.  In case you didn't know, sadly Smeared Ink is now no longer in business as of Dec 31, 2015.  I hold on to the hope that if we continue to use their stamps they may return in the future, one can only hope right!

Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop starting tomorrow!

Hello Fans of Poe!

Recently the Mayor of Baltimore declared Edgar Allan Poe's birthday, January 19, an official city-wide Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day so let's join the fun and celebrate Poe Appreciation Day with an impromptu blog hop!
The hop starts tomorrow, January 19 at 9am PST, and because it's spur of the moment this will be a progressive hop spanning over 5 days and you can join the hop at any time, no need to sign up!  You have until midnight PST on January 23 to join the fun!

All stamps of Poe and related imagery by other companies can be used!
Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda are sponsoring this hop and one participating blog will be randomly selected to win a $10 gift certificate to spend at LCD/CV!

We have lots of crow/raven themed stamps including a Poe himself!  Stop by and check them out!

 How to Play!
Show your appreciation of all things Poe and blog your new or old projects, yes, because this is an impromptu hop, you can enter old projects previously blogged, just re-share them in a new post and if you have zero time to write a new post then, just this once, you can add the Blog Roll code to your old post too.

This is all for fun and a way to show off our love of Poe so I'm not bothering with too many rules!  The only one rule to remember is...incorporate at least one rubber stamped element in your project and then you can go wild and use digis, hand draw, etc!

The Blog Roll is in the form of an Inlinkz collection and the HTML code to use is available HERE!
Simply create your blog post, switch the view to HTML view, copy and paste the code into your post and publish as normal!  The Blog Roll Inlinkz Collection will now be included in your own post and to enter the hop just link up your Poe post by adding it to the Inlinkz collection.  Everyone hopping with us just clicks on the links as they appear over the 5 days and enjoys all the Poe inspired projects on show!

I hope you can join me and play in the blog hop or stop by this week to see all the fabulous Poe themed projects on show!  See you tomorrow!

Day 12 and Finale: KRAMPUS!

Welcome back for Day 11 of

We have been counting down to Christmas Smeared Ink style with our annual 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop!  What a freaktastic hop we have had!  A big THANK YOU to Smeared Ink for hosting this hop for us and I hope we do it again in 2016!  Congrats Jolly Bloggers for all your fab creations this year and thank you for hopping with me and leaving your wonderful comments, I truly appreciate them!

Now for my Day 12 finale project!  Only 2 more sleeps and then Krampus is here EEEEEEEK!

KRAMPUS!

Today's domino features "You Want WHAT???" by Rick St Dennis.  Isn't he the perfect Krampus!
This is the only digi stamp I have used throughout the 12 Days of Creepmas, the rest were all stamped and coloured with Sharpies, this one was printed out and coloured with Copics and adhered to the domino.  I then completed it by edging the domino and colouring the sides with a DecoColor metallic silver paint pen and embellished with a gold metallic wired ribbon bow, 3 little red holly berries, a snowflake and crystal Stickles glitter glue for some magic sparkle.   All 12 of my dominoes are sealed with Judikins Diamond Glaze.

Now for the grand reveal of what I've been doing with all these dominoes!  Ta-Daaaaa!
It's a 12 Days of Creepmas Wreath ;0)

Each domino has black wire adhered to the back for easy tying.  I also embellished the wreath with a few poinsettias (Cherry Lynn die) and draped string lights around it!  I love how it turned out!

Here's a view of it on my wall in my Creepmas display along with my Monster High ice sprites, my Lady Malicent de Winter (22" Tonner American Model Goth doll) and one of my painted Ceramic Christmas ornaments...ceramics is another one of my passions and I'm a certified Gare instructor.  That beautiful reindeer card was made by my Mom, Val S, who is also a Jolly Blogger this year ;0)

Well that's it from me, you've got 2 more stops on the hop, off you go to Lady B!!

Thanks for visiting with me, I hope you've enjoyed the show!
Happy Holidays and Merry Creepmas!

Day 11: Merry Creepmas!

Welcome back for Day 11 of

We are counting down to Christmas Smeared Ink style with our annual 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop!  What a freaktastic hop we are having and sadly it's nearly over, just one more day to go but then that means Santa isn't far behind YIPPIE!  If you've missed all the fun then start the hop on Dec 1st and hop your way through the Jolly Bloggers blog roll over there in my right sidebar, you've got lots of creeptastic Christmas themed projects to look at!

Thank you so much for hopping with me and leaving me your lovely comments ;0)

Now for my Day 11 project!

Merry Creepmas!
an altered domino that could be a tree ornament, a magnet or a pendant, but it isn't...so have my previous clues given the game away?  One final clue coz sadly today is the 2nd to last day of this fab hop!  Clue #4 it can hang on a wall or a door!
Update:  YES!  It is a wreath, well done to those who figured it out teehee :0), you'll see pix of my entire project on Day 12!

Today's domino is a combination of two Tim Holtz - Stamper's Anonymous ATC collage stamps:  "Reindeer Games" and "X-Ray".  I first stamped "Reindeer Games" with red StazOn and then over stamped "X-Ray" in black.  I removed portions of the combined collage with an old Marvy Le Plume alcohol colourless blending marker and altered the 2nd part of the word "Christmas" and turned it into "Creepmas" with a red Sharpie marker.  I added various shades of blue Sharpie to the web area and drew a Santa Hat on Skellie's head...he's very chuffed with it and thinking of giving Jack Skellington a run for his money!  I edged the domino with a DecoColor metallic silver paint pen and coloured the sides too.  I finished off the piece with a gold metallic wired ribbon bow, a snowflake and added crystal Stickles glitter glue for some magic sparkle.

Just a few more stops on the hop for you today, now off you go to Lady B!!

Thanks for visiting with me, see you again for the finale on Dec 23rd!

Day 10: Shocking Good Fun!

Welcome back for Day 10 of

We are counting down to Christmas Smeared Ink style with our annual 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop!  What a freaktastic hop we are having!  Stop by every 2nd day throughout December and hop your way through the Jolly Bloggers blog roll over there in my right sidebar.  You will want to stick around and feast your eyeballs on all the creeptastic Christmas themed projects!

Thank you so much for hopping with me and leaving me your lovely comments ;0)

Now for my Day 10 project!

Shocking Good Fun!
an altered domino that could be a tree ornament, a magnet or a pendant, but it isn't...Clue #1 was PRICKLY and clue #2 was it's ROUND...now for clue #3 it's BLACK ;0) Who can guess what I'm doing with all these dominoes?

I couldn't resist using my fave Grumpie again for this one!  I stamped the Smeared Ink Christmas Grumpie from the Occasions Grumpie rubber stamp set onto the white domino with jet black StazOn ink and after heat setting I coloured him with various Sharpie markers in my signature Sharpie Domino Queen style.  I edged the domino with a DecoColor metallic silver paint pen and coloured the sides too.  I finished off the piece with a gold metallic wired ribbon bow tied around an old Xmas fairy light, a snowflake and added crystal Stickles glitter glue to his hat, the light's wire and the snowflake for some magic sparkle.

Just a few more stops on the hop for you today, now off you go to Lady B!!

Thanks for visiting with me, see you again on Dec 21!
